Now, over thirty years later, cabin 28 finally gives up its deadly secret The Movie - This is out now exclusively Walmart and released later on Amazon 9262017 Im a sucker for true crime stories, and what reels me in with this one is it includes masked intruders, which really amps up the creep factor.

Also, a warning appears before the movie starts, like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, regardless of how true anything is, it scores major creep points with me This is a British horror home invasion movie, and while there are some differences from the actual case in which its based on (see below), this one was a pretty decent movie.

The acting is what is to be expected from a direct to video low budget movie, its not great ( a little wooden honestly), but its not terrible when the suspense kicks into high gear.

The movie isnt gory, and there are a few deaths that are bloody, but what it does rely on is a bit of suspense.

The idea of being out in the woods and having someone show up knocking at night, sort of implying that they want in, really gets under my skin.

The first hour is the home invasion piece, and the last half hour goes into the investigation, which I kind of enjoyed, as it made the movie a little different than your normal stalk n chase film.

The latter idea also made the movie a bit more of a true crime tale, versus the standard horror movie narrative.

The end is a tad different than the case, and Im happy about that, not to give spoilers but its a bit more mysterious.

I picked up my copy for 9, and it was a blind buy, and it is one I would def give another spin.

It will appeal to those that like a little crime drama with their home invasion slasher.

Sues oldest son John had spent the day in the town of Quincy with his friend Dana Wingate.

They returned home to Cabin 28 later that night, presumably retiring to Johns basement bedroom.

Whether they entered the home with the murder in-progress or became aware of intruders after hearing a disturbance upstairs is unknown.

The following morning, Sues oldest daughter Sheila came home after a night spent with friends.
